Divinity 3c whipping cream (1.5 pints) 6c sugar 2c light Karo 1/2t salt 2T butter (not margarine) 1# shelled walnuts 1t vanilla Mix cream, sugar, Karo and salt in a canning-sized kettle. Stir until dissolved and begins to boil. Cover with lid 1-2 minutes to wash sugar crystals from the sides. DO NOT STIR again. Continue to cook and occasionally use a metal spoon to move mixture away from edge only. Cook until soft-firm ball forms in cold (iced) water. Time and color will vary - candy thermometers are unreliable. Add vanilla & butter & remove from heat. Add walnuts and stir until almost set. Quickly pour into well buttered bread pans. Cool before removing. Quarter and wrap in foil. Makes enough to fill 2 pans.
